It takes core Minecraft mechanics and allows them to become a more in-depth RPG type experience. McMMO adds a skill system that increases experience the more a tool or weapon is used, or the more times an action is performed. September . The skills are divided into Gathering, Combat and Miscellaneous. As you gain experience with a skill, you earn bonuses such as double drops, rare drops, or ability enhancement.

- Just basically digging, there's no real way to level up digging fast but just by digging. 'giga drill' a skill activated while holding a shovel in your hand lets you dig faster for a while. Respectively the higher your excavation level the more likely you are able to dig up random treasures from just digging. Such as Diamonds at a high level.
