March 23 – This is your day to choose your own professional learning journey. We’ll start with special guest Andreas Schleicher, Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills, OECD and the latest research on social-emotional learning, followed by five professional development tracks led by MIE Experts and Microsoft Showcase School leaders who are truly transforming the education space!

  • Track 1: Build your career sessions which include how to build your social presence, coach colleagues, rock the stage with dynamic presentations, share your expertise by joining our MIE Trainer community, and create engaging video content for your colleagues around the world.

  • Track 2: Student-centered learning where we will dig into the Flipgrid Discovery Library with content from Peter Reynolds, Supporting parents as co-teachers during the pandemic, Accessibility tools to support diverse learners, Data-driven decision making with Microsoft Insights, and Bringing the best of remote and face-to-face learning together for improved student outcomes.

  • Track 3: STEM sessions including ideas of how to bring coding into the classroom with Micro:bit and Make Code, using the Micro:bit in a culturally relevant classroom, integrating STEM into the content curriculum with Flipgrid, how Minecraft: Education Edition can empower your students to do more, and improving student literacy through Book to Build and Minecraft: Education Edition.

  • Track 4: Student engagement and well-being topics including how WE Schools and Microsoft’s Tech for Good are supporting students, building community for your learners with Flipgrid, how to bring the world into your classroom with virtual field trips with guest speakers through Flipgrid, keeping kids safe online, and how you can support SEL with Microsoft tools.   • Track 5: School and System leadership focused on integrated data platforms to drive decision making, research results from what we learned with the COVID-19 disruption, AI vision and potential, leading effective transformation. Don’t miss special guest, Marc Lesser, speaker, executive coach, and author: Seven Practices of a Mindful Leader, leading session on how to take care of you so you can find inspiration and effectiveness in the midst of exhaustion.

March 24 – We’ll conclude this special adventure with guest speakers including Peter Reynolds, distinguished author of The Dot, Ish, I Am Peace, and more. You’ll also hear from MIE Experts and Showcase School leaders on how being a part of these communities helped them grow into the Changemakers they are today. Lastly, you’ll want to join the not-to-be missed awards ceremony celebrating the winners of the social media and Tech for Good challenges.
